SCENIC SURROUNDINGS
One of only a handful of superb small lodges on the private Kwandwe Game Reserve in South Africa’s Eastern Cape, the Kwandwe Great Fish River Lodge has arguably the best location.
Nestled on the lush green banks of its namesake, the Great Fish River, the lodge’s huge windows and wraparound viewing decks make the most the scenic surroundings. Whilst here you’ll embark on twice daily game drives, nature walks and big game walking safaris with skilled guides and trackers who will lead you through the game-rich Kwandwe reserve. The opportunity to track white and black rhino, elephant and buffalo on foot is a particular highlight here.
LUXURIOUS SUITES
Back at the lodge, where better to unwind than by your private plunge pool. The nine luxurious suites are decked out in a classic-contemporary African-inspired decor, with earthy tones and foldaway glass doors that open onto thatched verandas. The communal areas of the lodge are built for relaxation, with cosy fireplaces and expansive decks perfect for watching wildlife come down to the river for a drink. It’s also here that you’ll dine on delicious African-inspired meals, both in the candlelit dining room and al fresco in the boma beneath a starlit sky.
