THE MAGELLAN EXPLORER

AWE-INSPIRING LANDSCAPES

Stylish, strong and agile, the Magellan Explorer is the world’s first expedition ship to be purposely designed for Antarctica fly-cruises.

Although the Magellan has the capacity to hold 100 people, the number of guests on its air-cruises is limited to just 73 to ensure a more intimate, small ship experience. Guests are accommodated in seven categories of cabins, the majority of which feature private balconies.

Magellan Explorer, Antartica

All are comfortably appointed with their own seating areas, bathrooms and individually controlled heating systems. When not in your cabin, you’ll likely find yourself in the glass-enclosed observation lounge where you can watch the awe-inspiring landscapes of Antarctica float by.

Other facilities include a gym with panoramic windows, a library stocked with Antarctica literature and a presentation room kitted out with state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment. Meals are served in the stylish dining room, and drinks in the well-stocked bar. When you’re not watching wildlife from the observation lounge or bow of the ship, you’ll have the opportunity to venture out on Zodiac boats for up-close encounters with the region’s enchanting polar wildlife. Other activities include kayaking, hiking and snowshoeing.

“FLAWLESS, AGAIN”
This is the third time I’ve used TUTC. The service, as before, was flawless. Aside from putting in place all the major details of a complex trip to Japan, Dan at TUTC nailed every detail: train tickets were for seats with large luggage space (very important in Japan, as we discovered); a mobile internet wifi was included; together with a pre-charged use-pretty-much-anywhere travel card (again, important – Japan has multiple transport companies). For any kind of complex trip I won’t go anywhere else.

“YES TO ULTIMATE – AND YES AGAIN”
This was our second big trip with The Ultimate Travel Company – and we’d happily use them again and again. The customer service is excellent: they really listen to what you want and make it happen. Their on-the-ground support, wherever you’re headed, is just as strong. Everything was seamless. Highly recommend.

“INDIA AT ITS MOST INCREDIBLE”
Unbelievably brilliant from start to finish. The Ultimate Travel Company gave us complete flexibility while tailoring the trip to our personal preferences. Communication was excellent throughout, and the in-country team in India was super-efficient at every stage. The quality of the experience was exceptional – and the value for money, remarkable. From expert naturalists to thrilling wildlife encounters (tigers, leopards, 140 species of birds), awe-inspiring temples, the Taj Mahal, scenic walks and warm, welcoming people – not to mention the fantastic curry – it was a truly superb holiday. “Ultimate” really is “The Ultimate Travel Company”!
