Regardless of whether you’re hearing them for the first time or the hundredth, the roar of a great-maned male lion, or the howl of hunting hyenas ripping through the black night is a spine-tingling sensation. In a few hours’ time you’ll be on their track, your expert guide pointing out their spoor.
You’ll see prides of lion basking in the shade, elephants slowly ambling their way across the rolling plains – almost close enough to run up and touch. And, in season, you’ll be able to watch the drama of the Great Migration, when literally millions of wildebeest and zebra cross the Mara from the Serengeti in search of food, fording rivers and braving crocodiles as they go. Truly one of the most awe-inspiring sights in the natural world.
