FOUR SEASONS HOTEL RITZ LISBON

A HILLSIDE ADDRESS WITH WIDE LISBON VIEWS

Set on a hill opposite Eduardo VII Park, Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon is one of the city’s most recognisable addresses, with wide views across Old Lisbon, São Jorge Castle and the Tagus River. Opened in 1959 and managed by Four Seasons since 1998, it pairs classic scale with a distinctly Portuguese sense of place, from craftsmanship and materials to the museum-level artworks found throughout its public spaces.

The hotel has 282 rooms and suites, including 244 guest rooms and 38 suites, spread across ten floors. Rooms and suites redesigned in 2021 preserve the spirit of the original 1950s interiors while stepping firmly into the present, with advanced technology for lighting, sound and comfort. Design touches draw on Art Deco and Louis XVI influences, interpreted by Portuguese craftsmen, and framed by a calm palette that keeps the focus on Lisbon beyond the windows.

Wellness is a key part of the experience here. The spa is designed as a quiet, multi-sensory space with marble and oak finishes, and includes four treatment rooms as well as an 18-metre indoor lap pool with park views. A eucalyptus-scented sauna, heated limestone floors and a crushed ice fountain add thoughtful detail, while the fitness centre extends to a rooftop running track, offering a rare 360-degree circuit high above the city.

Dining ranges from the Michelin-starred CURA, led by Chef Rodolfo Lavrador, to Varanda Restaurant for relaxed meals throughout the day. Guests can also settle into the Ritz Bar, or spend time poolside at the Ritz Pool Bar, with an outdoor pool set among gardens and private alcoves. For those travelling with children, the hotel’s Ritzy programme includes a treasure hunt that leads younger guests through the building in a way that feels playful and genuinely local.

“EXCEPTIONAL SUPPORT FOR A FIRST SOLO ADVENTURE”

Planning my first solo trip felt like a big step, but The Ultimate Travel Company made it easy from the outset. I reached out over a year in advance, and Rob Kent quickly put together a thoughtful itinerary based on exactly what I was looking for, securing great flights and always being available to talk things through. Everything ran smoothly and I felt looked after every step of the way. The accommodation in Japan, Fiji and Tahiti was excellent and the experiences unforgettable.
