SENSATIONAL WILDLIFE VIEWING

Sri Lanka has been protecting large tracts of land as sanctuaries since the third century BC, and today boasts over 20 national parks where you will find a rich collection of wildlife from stunning leopards to mighty elephants.

Yala National Park is the most famous and offers sensational wildlife viewing across a variety of landscapes. The park is best known for its leopard population, who share the park with crocodiles, sloth bears and an array of exotic birds. When you’re not tracking wildlife, you can explore the park’s fascinating ruins.

Uda Walawe is one of the best spots in Sri Lanka for seeing wild elephants, with huge herds roaming throughout the park. As well as these gentle giants, visitors can also encounter buffalo, sambar deer and wild boar. The park itself is set within a scenic patch of land, enclosed by verdant hills and tea plantations
