THE MALABAR HOUSE, COCHIN

BOUTIQUE HERITAGE HOTEL

Owned, at different points in its history, by spice traders, tea traders and bankers, The Malabar House became the area’s very first boutique heritage hotel in 1997. The 17 guestrooms and suites are vibrant and tastefully furnished with a carefully curated collection of antique and contemporary artwork. All have large ensuite bathrooms, four-poster beds and either a veranda, terrace or private sit-out, with views over the patio garden or historic Parade Ground.

The hotel’s fine dining restaurant serves a Keralan and Mediterranean inspired menu using the best of local, organic produce wherever possible – accompanied by live classical Indian music performances. For tapas and a taste of fine Indian wines, head to the dedicated wine lounge. When not exploring the nearby attractions by bike, guests can unwind with a rejuvenating Ayurvedic massage or treatment in the sumptuous Purespa.

“EVERY TRIP EXCELLENT – AND MORE TO COME”
I’ve been on several small group holidays with The Ultimate Travel Company and every one has been outstanding. My most recent trip in February was no exception – expertly organised, responsive to questions, and full of memorable experiences. The itineraries are well thought out, the hotels top-notch, and the group sizes just right. Their tour leaders are knowledgeable, supportive and great company. I haven’t looked elsewhere since discovering Ultimate – and I’m already planning my next.

“TRIP TO THE TOP OF THE WORLD”
Everything about our trip was excellent. While it’s a considered investment, the service more than justifies the cost. We loved the accommodation – beautifully chosen and thoughtfully located. Our guides ranged from grear to truly exceptional. And the places we visited? They exceeded all expectations. Peru is an extraordinarily beautiful country, and this journey gave us a real sense of its wonder.
