Accesible only by boat, guests make a picturesque journey across the fjord to the Dorita Bay, where Puyuhuapi Lodge & Spa is located. Built using traditional methods and made out of wood, stone, and tiles, the ecolodge has been designed in typical Chilean style, with a warm and simple interior. The entire lodge faces the bay and all thirty of the rooms have large windows, allowing guests to fully enjoy the beautiful surroundings from the comfort of their own bed.
Guest staying at Puyuhuapi can relax and enjoy the warm hospitality, or use it as a base to explore the surrounding nature. For some it is part of a longer journey along the Carretera Austral highway, but for others it is a chance to explore the beautiful islands and fjords in this part of Patagonia.
There are a variety of different trails guests can explore, both inside and outside the Queulat National Park, as well as natural hot springs, which is what put the area on the map. Guests can enjoy a gentle kayak across the fjord, where you may be lucky enough to be joined by playful dolphins or visit the small village of Puyuhuapi, a short 30 minute boat journey from the lodge.
Puyuhuapi Lodge & Spa has both an indoor and outdoor spa area, and features naturally heated pools, whose thermal waters originate from the Melimoyu Volcano and four smaller volcanoes located between the lodge and the port of Puyuhuapi. After a day of exploring the nearby Queulat National Park, it’s a great way to revitalise and the brave (or crazy!) can even jump into the ice-cold waters of the fjord afterwards.
Back inside the lodge, guests are invited to relax around one of the fire places or enjoy a drink on the terrace. Meals are normally included in your stay and the restaurant serves simple but delicious local cuisine, with a few different options available each day.
