CAMP KIPWE

GUIDED NATURE DRIVES

Sitting seamlessly amid an outcrop of huge granite boulders in Namibia’s Damaraland, intimate Camp Kipwe feels totally at one with its surroundings.

Guided nature drives are a wonderful way to get up close with the area’s unique deserted adapted wildlife, but guests are also free to explore the short walking trails surrounding the property to learn more about the region’s unique plants and trees. Excursions to the magnificent rock engravings at Twyfelfontein, the multi-hued Burnt Mountain and the so-called Organ Pipes complete the experience. Return in the evening for a scenic sundowner, and to share stories around the fire pit.

DAMARALAND

NATURALLY STYLED ACCOMMODATION

The camp’s naturally styled accommodation comprises just nine rustic bungalows and one honeymoon suite with rounded walls, curved roofs, open-air bathrooms and private decks that look out over the endless plains. The thatched alfresco dining area and lounge also command stunning views, and there is a refreshing plunge pool nestled among the rocks. An eco-friendly camp with sustainability at its core, Kipwe’s sustainable practices range from utilising energy-saving bulbs to harvesting and replanting indigenous plants.

TESTIMONAL 11
“YES TO ULTIMATE – AND YES AGAIN”
This was our second big trip with The Ultimate Travel Company – and we’d happily use them again and again. The customer service is excellent: they really listen to what you want and make it happen. Their on-the-ground support, wherever you’re headed, is just as strong. Everything was seamless. Highly recommend.

“IN SAFE HANDS, EVEN WHEN PLANS CHANGE”
Every detail of our Patagonia tour was expertly arranged – from transfers and flights to the choice of hotels. When our onward flight to the Falklands was delayed by two days, The Ultimate Travel Company stepped in immediately and secured a hotel for us. It was an enormous relief, especially as we don’t speak Spanish and had no idea what to do next. That level of thoughtful, responsive service stayed with us – it turned a potential travel hiccup into a lasting positive memory.

“FLAWLESS, AGAIN”
This is the third time I’ve used TUTC. The service, as before, was flawless. Aside from putting in place all the major details of a complex trip to Japan, Dan at TUTC nailed every detail: train tickets were for seats with large luggage space (very important in Japan, as we discovered); a mobile internet wifi was included; together with a pre-charged use-pretty-much-anywhere travel card (again, important – Japan has multiple transport companies). For any kind of complex trip I won’t go anywhere else.
