Jabiru Safari Lodge is located within the Mareeba Tropical Savannah and Wetland Reserve, an hour and fifteen minutes drive west of Cairns, on the northern edge of the Atherton Tablelands (Cairns Highlands). The two thousand hectare reserve of open savannah woodland, grassland and freshwater wetlands provides a unique setting for the lodge, allowing guests to fully appreciate the outback environment and prolific birdlife during the best times of the day.

Accommodation is in three en-suite Deluxe Tented Safari Cabins and two en-suite Eco Tented Safari Cabins. Each cabin is appointed with comfortable beds and linen with natural materials such as timber floors to compliment the warm tones of the safari furniture. The cabins are spacious and light with a shaded private timber verandah, BBQ and comfortable tables and chairs. The Deluxe Tented Safari Cabins feature a Queen or double bed, 240v power and a fridge. The Eco Tented Safari Cabins feature three single beds, 12V solar power and a gas fridge. Please note there are no telephones or televisions in any of the tented safari cabins.

The lodge has a café offering light meals and snacks throughout the day.

  • Although we bothered Lydia on several occasions over small matters, she was always patient and very helpful. The whole organisation from Heathrow and back was seamless and first class. Game watching on this trip surpassed all that we had seen before in the one trip. Our thanks to Ultimate yet again
