Once an old coffee farm, Rivertrees today is a homely country estate offering unpretentious comfort and a genuine welcome. The property sits on 10 sprawling acres, a natural extension of Mt Meru’s lush green foothills, and looks out towards the fabled Mt Kilimanjaro. Individually designed and incredibly private, its rustic cottages are dotted along the river and tucked into the shade of tall trees. Each has a small veranda with chairs.

Follow one of the winding pathways that weave through the lush grounds and you’ll find yourself at the sparkling swimming pool, massage hut or restaurant where you can enjoy a garden-fresh meal in the sun. Just outside the bustling safari town of Arusha, Rivertrees finds itself at the heart of nature reserves, montane forests and vibrant villages, offering endless scope for exploration. Birdwatching on the estate can also be very rewarding.

“FAULTLESS AND FUN”
We’ve just returned from a Danube cruise with Douglas Skeggs and Joanna Worsley, with a few days in Vienna beforehand – all brilliantly overseen by Emily. From meet and greet at the airport to every detail on board the Amadeus Cara, the organisation was seamless. We’re already looking forward to our next Escorted Tour with The Ultimate Travel Company.

“SERVICE THAT GOES THE EXTRA MILE”

The service we received from The Ultimate Travel Company was second to none. Tania took the time to understand exactly what we wanted and helped us explore every option clearly and thoroughly. Her first-hand knowledge of Kenya and safaris made a real difference – she explained everything brilliantly. The thoughtful extras, like the travel wallet and documents, were such a lovely touch – especially for someone who loves to travel well-organised! Thank you so much. We’ll definitely be back for future adventures.

“FLAWLESS, AGAIN”
This is the third time I’ve used TUTC. The service, as before, was flawless. Aside from putting in place all the major details of a complex trip to Japan, Dan at TUTC nailed every detail: train tickets were for seats with large luggage space (very important in Japan, as we discovered); a mobile internet wifi was included; together with a pre-charged use-pretty-much-anywhere travel card (again, important – Japan has multiple transport companies). For any kind of complex trip I won’t go anywhere else.
