ABOUT THE ITINERARY
From the diverse and abundant collection of wildlife in Nyerere National Park and Ruaha National Park to the soft, powder-like white sand beaches of Zanzibar, our Southern Tanzania and Zanzibar holiday itinerary will introduce you to the wonders of Tanzania’s southern regions and archipelago.
You will begin your luxury holiday in Nyerere National Park, one of the largest National Parks in Africa. Previously known as Selous Game Reserve, your adventure in Nyerere National Park will include an array of exciting game drives, bush walks and motorboat trips for up-close encounters with the Big Five, elephant herds, giraffes, antelopes, crocodiles, hippos and more.
You will then travel to Ruaha National Park, one of Tanzania’s least known safari destinations, to explore the endless rolling hills, towering baobab forests and vast open plains with guided 4×4 game drives, night game drives and bush walks. Here, you will have the opportunity to witness Tanzania’s largest elephant population with over 10,000 elephants, countless herds of herbivores and prides of big cats as well as some of the country’s most prolific birdlife.
For a few days of relaxation post-safari, you will head to the magical island of Zanzibar, where its idyllic beaches and excellent snorkelling excursions will provide the perfect end to your tailor-made holiday.
NYERERE NATIONAL PARK
Arriving into Dar es Salaam, you will be transferred to your luxury safari lodge overlooking the Rufiji River in the north-west area of Nyerere National Park.
For four days, you will find yourself discovering the enchanting natural wilderness and impressive concentration of wildlife set in one of the largest National Parks in Africa. Expert guides will lead you on exciting game drives, bush walks and motorboat trips for up-close encounters with the Big Five (lion, rhino, leopard, elephant and buffalo) as well as hippo, cheetah, hyena, jackal, wild dog, giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, and an astonishing array of bird species.

RUAHA NATIONAL PARK
Leaving Nyerere behind, you now make your way to one of Tanzania’s least known safari destinations, Ruaha National Park.
From Kigelia, a luxury safari camp perfectly positioned in the eastern heart of the Park, you will be able to explore the endless rolling hills, towering baobab forests and vast open plains with guided 4×4 game drives, night game drives and bush walks. Ruaha is home to Tanzania’s largest elephant population with over 10,000 elephants, countless herds of herbivores and prides of big cats as well as some of the most prolific birdlife of Tanzania. You may also have the chance to see the rare striped hyena and elusive African wild dog on your epic wildlife adventure.
Stay: Three nights at Kigelia
ZANZIBAR
On day eight, you will travel to Zanzibar’s unspoiled east coast for some well-deserved post-safari R&R.
From the secluded resort of Shooting Star Lodge, you can spend your days strolling along the beach’s powder soft sands, sipping cocktails under palm trees and unwinding by the cliffside infinity pool, overlooking the Indian Ocean beyond. For those feeling more active, you can embark on snorkelling excursions to the nearby Mnemba Atoll, fishing trips with the locals and guided tours around Stone Town and the Jozani Forest.

Today, you will be transferred to Zanzibar Airport for your flight home.
