ABOUT THE ITINERARY
This journey moves through China in distinct stages, beginning in Shanghai, where historic districts sit alongside a modern skyline. From here, the pace softens in Hangzhou around the lakes and tea hills, before continuing north to Beijing and its imperial landmarks, including the Forbidden City and the Great Wall.
Travelling west, the route shifts into China’s historic heartlands, from the preserved town of Pingyao to Xi’an, long associated with the Silk Road. The landscapes then open into Yunnan, where Lijiang and Shangri-La introduce mountain scenery and Tibetan influence.
The journey continues south to the karst landscapes of Yangshuo, before concluding in Hong Kong.
