Join Tania Illingworth in the Red City of Marrakech and you will stay at the 5-star Les Jardins de la Koutoubia Hotel, located in the heart of the ancient medina. You will see the ornate Bahia Palace and exquisite Majorelle gardens, visit a local saffron farm, and explore the famous Jemaa El Fna square where throngs of people weave between tightly packed stalls displaying pyramids of brightly coloured spices, richly woven rugs and a thousand other exotic goods.

Monday, 23 March – London to Marrakech

Depart from London Gatwick on a British Airways flight to Marrakech (not included in the cost of the tour). On arrival, meet your guide and transfer to the Les Jardins de la Koutoubia Hotel where four nights are spent. Welcome drinks and dinner at the hotel.

Tuesday, 24 March – Marrakech

Breakfast at the hotel. Walking tour of the ancient medina including the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Jemaa el Fna Square. Lunch at the Villa Aaron. Visit Le Jardin Secret, designed with the help of Tom Stuart-Smith. Return to the hotel for dinner under own arrangements.

Overnight: Les Jardins de la Koutoubia, Marrakech

Wednesday, 25 March – Marrakech

Breakfast at the hotel. Depart for the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. Visit Anima, the garden of Austrian artist André Heller. Continue to Le Paradis du Safran. Lunch at the Olinto Retreat and tour of the beautiful gardens with the owners. Return to the hotel for dinner under own arrangements.

Overnight: Les Jardins de la Koutoubia, Marrakech

Thursday, 26 March – Marrakech

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning visit to the Marjorelle Gardens and Islamic rt Museum. Continue to the Yves Saint Laurent Museum. Lunch in the garden at the iconic La Mamounia Hotel. Afternoon visit to the 19th century Bahia Palace and the ruins of the El Badi Palace. Return to the hotel. Farewell dinner on the rooftop at El Fenn.

Friday, 27 March – Marrakech to London

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Marrakech Airport for a British Airways flight to London Gatwick (flight not included in the cost of the tour).
