Amankila Resort Luxury Seaside Hotel, Bali

With a journey time from the airport of only one hour, you can now discover "old Bali", its temples, villages and water palaces, whilst also enjoying lazy, sun-soaked days on your private patio or beside Amankila's signature three-tier pool. Set into the cliff-edge, the blue-tiled pools flow one into the other, stepping down like terraced fields towards the sea.

Amankila's 34 elegantly-appointed suites are elevated to take advantage of the spectacular views towards the surrounding hillsides, neighbouring Lombok and the straits that divide the islands where, at night, the flickering lights of native 'prahus' can be seen heading out to their fishing grounds.

The Restaurant, located above the main pool, is open for dinner. The menu features a mix of Western and Indonesian cuisine. Adjacent to the Restaurant is Amankila's Bar, with its views out to sea. The Terrace, set just back from the main pool, is open for breakfast and lunch, offering Asian and Western cuisine. Local women dressed in sarongs and kebayas serve Indonesian ginger tea and traditional Balinese cakes beside the library in the afternoon.

Snorkelling equipment, windsurfers, boogie boards, kayaks, hobie-cats and a further swimming pool are located at the Beach Club. Amankila's staff will be happy to assist you with watersports, providing lessons or sailing partners if required.

  • We were asked 2 or 3 times 'how did you find this place?' which was well off the usual tourist track. Answer: we didn’t, our agent (you) did!
