SOSIAN, LAIKIPIA

A UNIQUE AND QUALITY KENYAN SAFARI EXPERIENCE

Comprising an eight-bedroom safari lodge and working cattle ranch, Sosian promises a unique and quality Kenyan safari at the heart of Laikipia.

Encompassing a sitting room, dining area, bar and billiards room, the original ranch house is now the focal point of the homely Sosian Lodge. An expansive wraparound veranda commands gorgeous views across the beautiful landscape, with the Ewaso Narok River running through the southern section of the ranch. The eight cottages are scattered throughout the gardens, and offer plenty of privacy and comfort. Each has a veranda furnished with cedar-wood lounge chairs, where tea or coffee is laid out each morning.

As well as its own livestock, Sosian supports a wide diversity of wildlife and birds including lion, giraffe, zebra and elephant. In addition to riding safaris on well-schooled horses, you can explore on day and night game drives, bush walks, camel rides and fly camping excursions. Fishing, kayaking and river swimming are also on the menu, as well as cultural visits to neighbouring villages. Sosian’s heated pool is a popular retreat between activities, with lunch and evening BBQs often laid out under the shade of the large pool house.

“THREE HOLIDAYS IN AND STILL HIGHLY RECOMMEDED”
Dan Mills organised perfectly a challenging itinerary to incorporate a wedding we were attending in Kathmandu. A fantastic balance of trekking, rafting, safari, sightseeing and R&R. This was our third holiday with Ultimate Travel and we cannot recommend highly enough

“SEAMLESSLY ORGANISED, TRULY UNFORGETTABLE”
The itinerary was spot on. Claire really listened and understood the kind of holiday I wanted – from the hotels to the pace of the trip. The team on the ground were exceptional: friendly, efficient, and always one step ahead, helping with everything from flight check-ins to tax-free procedures at the end. The guides were knowledgeable and genuinely helpful. I had an amazing time. Thank you!

“INDIA AT ITS MOST INCREDIBLE”
Unbelievably brilliant from start to finish. The Ultimate Travel Company gave us complete flexibility while tailoring the trip to our personal preferences. Communication was excellent throughout, and the in-country team in India was super-efficient at every stage. The quality of the experience was exceptional – and the value for money, remarkable. From expert naturalists to thrilling wildlife encounters (tigers, leopards, 140 species of birds), awe-inspiring temples, the Taj Mahal, scenic walks and warm, welcoming people – not to mention the fantastic curry – it was a truly superb holiday. “Ultimate” really is “The Ultimate Travel Company”!
