(As if once would ever be enough!) Because, on this scattering of South Pacific islands, the unrivalled combination of sun, sand, palm trees and warm lagoons reaches its apogee.

And you’ll hear the word ‘bula’ quite often too. It means welcome, and Fijians certainly know how to make you feel it. Away from the beach you’ll be treated to traditional kava – it’s a local drink – ceremonies and lavish lovo feasts, traditional music, fire walking and costumed dance.

DAY 1-2

LOS ANGELES – VITI LEVU

Catch a flight to Fiji’s largest island, via Los Angeles. Once you’ve arrived on Viti Levu you’ll be met and taken to your resort.

DAY 3-4

VITI LEVU

You’ll be staying at one of the island’s foremost resorts, set in 40 acres of swaying palms and tropical gardens. And you’ll soon find yourself falling under the spell of ‘Fiji time’, which involves lazing on a beautiful beach, swimming in sun-warmed waters, talking to passers-by and dining on sea-fresh specialities. If you can resist the beach for a while there’s golf, PADI-certified diving, a pampering spa and great shopping for local handicrafts – not to mention meke dancing and musical performances, fire walking demonstrations and massive lovo banquets to indulge in.

Stay: Two nights at the famous Outrigger on the Lagoon Resort.

DAY 5-8

BLUE LAGOON CRUISE

This exclusive, white cruise ship is large enough to allow you to cruise in luxury. Yet small enough to moor against a palm tree and let you swim to the beach. Fiji Princess will take you to remote inlets, small lagoons and deserted beaches the liners can’t reach; you’ll discover the jewel-like Mamanuca Islands and the beautiful southern Yasawas, ringed by postcard-perfect beaches. You’ll dive off unspoiled coral reefs and bathe in the fabled Blue Lagoon. You’ll laze on a private beach on Nanuya Lailai Island, swim through the caverns of the Sawa i Lau Caves. You’ll gaze at the incredible scenery of the Sacred Islands, take guided inland nature walks and swim with manta rays.

DAY 9-13

LIKULIKU ISLAND RESORT

Now you hop over the azure waters of the South Pacific to the beautiful island of LikuLiku, so perfectly castaway that it could be the ultimate centrefold in a desert island holiday brochure. You will be staying in a choice of luxurious thatched bures, arranged in the style of a traditional Fijian village.
