ABOUT THE ITINERARY
Venture through Nepal’s Khumbu region in style. Trek iconic trails, fly in a helicopter, and stay in handpicked lodges.
Your journey begins in Kathmandu, with two nights at the exquisite Dwarika’s Hotel. It is the perfect place to unwind after your international flight, acclimatise gently and explore the colourful, spiritual heart of Nepal.
From here, you will fly to Lukla to begin an extraordinary 10-day trek through the Khumbu region. Staying in a curated collection of Mountain Lodges of Nepal, the route combines gentle village walks, iconic Himalayan trails, unique helicopter transfers and authentic cultural encounters, including a night at Everest Base Camp itself.

Kathmandu
Arrive in Kathmandu, where you’ll be met and transferred to the beautifully preserved Dwarika’s Hotel. Spend your time relaxing in the hotel’s peaceful courtyards, or step outside to explore the capital’s ancient temples and lively bazaars. These two nights allow you to settle in, acclimatise gently and prepare for the adventure ahead.
Stay: Two nights at Dwarika’s Hotel – Deluxe Room, bed & breakfast

Fly to Lukla & Trek to Phakding
Your Himalayan journey begins with a short flight to Lukla. From here, descend along forested trails, past quiet hamlets and prayer stones, until you reach the banks of the Dudh Kosi River. After a late lunch at your lodge in Phakding, there’s time to unwind or take a gentle walk to a nearby village and hillside gompa.
Stay: Mountain Lodges of Nepal, Phakding – full board

Trek to Monjo
Walk alongside the Dudh Kosi River, following a trail lined with waterfalls, pine forest and mani walls. Pause to visit Rimishung Monastery before continuing to Monjo, a tranquil village nestled beneath towering peaks. Lunch en route offers panoramic views of Thamserku.
Stay: Mountain Lodges of Nepal, Monjo – full board

Trek to Namche
Cross into Sagarmatha National Park and climb steadily, passing through a dramatic gorge and over suspension bridges. Your first glimpse of Everest marks your arrival in Namche Bazaar, the vibrant heart of the Khumbu. After lunch, relax at your lodge or explore Namche’s cafés, bakeries and shops.
Stay: Mountain Lodges of Nepal, Namche – full board

Namche Excursion
Spend the day acclimatising with two meaningful visits. First, trek to Khumjung, a traditional Sherpa village home to the Hillary School, with spectacular mountain views all around. Then continue to Sagarmatha Next, an inspiring initiative turning mountain waste into art and practical solutions.
Stay: Mountain Lodges of Nepal, Namche – full board

Trek to Deboche
Follow the classic Everest trail past prayer flags, rock faces and roaming Himalayan tahr. A forested descent leads to the riverside, followed by a gentle climb to Deboche, a peaceful alternative to busier Tengboche. Arrive at your lodge in time to rest and soak in the views.
Stay: Mountain Lodges of Nepal, Deboche – full board

Acclimatisation Day in Deboche
A rewarding acclimatisation day with breathtaking scenery. Visit Pangboche Monastery, steeped in legend, then continue uphill to Pangboche Hill (4,600m) for wide-reaching views of Ama Dablam, Island Peak and the surrounding range. Enjoy a scenic picnic before returning to the lodge.
Stay: Mountain Lodges of Nepal, Deboche – full board

Helicopter to Kongde Lodge
Take off from Deboche by helicopter and soar across the Khumbu to reach Kongde Lodge, perched high above the valley at 4,250m. Few travellers experience this perspective of the Himalaya – it is remote, pristine and unforgettable.
Stay: Mountain Lodges of Nepal, Kongde – full board

Kongde Lake or Farak Ri Hike
Start the day with a champagne breakfast before setting off on a high-altitude hike. Choose between the sparkling Kongde Lake or the summit of Farak Ri, each offering solitude, fresh air and stunning alpine views.
Stay: Mountain Lodges of Nepal, Kongde – full board

Helicopter to Kathmandu via Everest Base Camp
Board your helicopter for a spectacular flight to Everest Base Camp (5,364m), with sweeping views across the Himalayas en route. Visit the SPCC (Sagarmatha Pollution Control Committee) and HRA (Himalayan Rescue Association) stations, see the dramatic Khumbu Icefall up close and meet climbers making final preparations for their summit attempts before returning to Kathmandu by helicopter.
During the spring expedition season from April to May, it is possible to spend one or two nights in a comfortable tented camp at Everest Base Camp before flying back to Kathmandu by helicopter. Please enquire for further details.
