Will you be one of the few? One of only a few hundred people who are allowed to make this voyage every year.

Cruising the Ross Sea will take you deep into the fragile ecosystem that is at the heart of Antarctica. You will go further into the White Continent than normal cruises; to visit the huts that sheltered Shackleton, Scott, Mawson and Borchgrevink – poignant relics of the ‘heroic age’ of polar exploration.

You will also meet today’s inhabitants. For the two short, ice-melt months the region is alive with Adélie and emperor penguins, South Polar skuas, snow petrels and southern pulmars. It’s also teeming with the whales and seals that come to feed in the rich waters around the edge of the ice.

Become one of the fortunate few; join an expedition to the Ross Sea.

Shore visits are included but depend on weather conditions. Extra excursions vary with different itineraries and weather, and could typically include:

  • Camping on the polar ice
  • Kayaking to icebergs and floes

Lead in prices below are based on a Standard Twin Cabin with private bathroom and are cruise only. However, we would be happy to arrange any pre or post cruise accommodation as well as international flights upon request.

Prices are based on a US$ exchange rate of 1.45. Please note that exchange rates may be subject to fluctuation.
