ABOUT THE ITINERARY
From wandering around magnificent medieval temples to exploring the country’s most prolific national parks, experience the timeless wonders and untamed wilderness of Central India on our Indian Wildlife Safari.
You will begin your holiday flying into the vibrant city of Delhi, embracing the cacophony of sounds, rich historical sites and enticing food scene of the capital, before making the journey to Khajuraho.
Set in the state of Madhya Pradesh, Khajuraho is a true wonder to behold. The remote, historic UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to an array of ancient Jain and Hindu temples, each of which has hundreds of figures intricately carved into its ancient walls.
Your journey will then take you on an epic wildlife adventure across Madhya Pradesh, aptly called the ‘Tiger State of India’, with stops at the country’s most spectacular national parks: Bandhavgarh, Kanha, Pench and Satpura. With an abundance of rare and extraordinary species, including the majestic Bengal Tiger, each of these safaris promise a truly unforgettable experience in the heartland of India.
DELHI
You will fly overnight into Delhi Airport, where you will be met on arrival and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day will be spent at your leisure.
Stay: One night
KHAJURAHO
On day three, you will take a short flight to the remote world of Khajuraho. As you discover the UNESCO World Heritage site, you will witness a fascinating array of 80 Hindu and Jain temples, of which 22 have survived over time.
The fourth day of your adventure can be spent entirely at your leisure. For those looking to explore the area, you can plan boat rides and fishing trips on the pristine Ken river, walks through the crop fields of the surrounding countryside, and enjoy birding at nearby forest and wetland areas. There is also the opportunity to enjoy a game drive at one of the country’s most accessible tiger sanctuaries, Panna National Park.
Stay: Two nights
BANDHAVGARH NATIONAL PARK
You will now spend the next two days at Bandhavgarh National Park, one of the best tiger viewing destinations in India.
Bengal tigers are Bandhavgarh’s claim to fame, but there is so much more on offer. Exciting afternoon game drives with expert guides through the forested valleys, swampy marshes and open meadows will bring you encounters with an array of other rare and interesting species such as leopards, sloth bears, hyenas and jackal, as well as more than 250 species of bird.
Stay: Two nights
KANHA NATIONAL PARK
After a final morning safari and breakfast at Bandhavgarh National Park, you will be transferred to the famous Kanha National Park, also known as Kanha Tiger Reserve.
On day eight and nine, you will have the chance to explore the park with guided game drives. Covering 1945km2 of grassy meadows, meandering streams and bamboo forests, Kanha National Park is home to 230 recorded species including barasingha (swamp deer), gaur, leopard, tiger, chital, jackal, sambar and an exceptional variety of bird species.
Stay: Two nights
PENCH NATIONAL PARK
On day 10, you will make the journey to one of Central India’s lesser known and little visited parks, Pench National Park.
Situated in the Satpura Hills, Pench National Park is famous for its ferocious Bengal Tigers and has been designed to protect key areas of India’s tiger habitat. Considered as the place which inspired and is so vividly described in Rudyard Kipling’s ‘The Jungle Book’, Pench is also home to a great diversity of wildlife beyond its iconic tigers. This includes leopard, wolf, hyena, wild dog, gaur, sambar, nilgai, chital, barking deer, chowsingha and wild boar.
Stay: Two nights
SATPURA NATIONAL PARK
From day 12 to 14, you will explore the wonders of Satpura National Park on foot, by kayak and jeep safari.

With few visitors each year, you will be rewarded with a truly peaceful jungle experience where you may even feel as though you have the vast wilderness all to yourself.
