ATACAMA DESERT
Arrive into Santiago International Airport, where you will connect onto a short domestic flight to Calama, the entry-point to Chile’s iconic Atacama Desert. On arrival, you will be met by representatives from Awasi Atacama and transferred to the hotel in 1 ¼ hours.
ATACAMA DESERT CONTINUED
In the heart of the oasis town of San Pedro de Atacama is Awasi Atacama. A beautiful hotel built in the style of the traditional adobe buildings which are common in northern Chile. Each of the 12 private suites are accompanied by their own private guide, and unlike other hotels in the area, all activities at Awasi are on a private basis so you’ll have complete flexibility over what you see and do. On arrival, your guide will discuss the different options and together you will come up with a plan for your trip to the Chile’s Atacama Desert. There are a mixture of full-day and half-day excursions to choose from, including a visit to the Valley of Moon and geysers at el Tatio. During full-day activities you can enjoy a delicious picnic lunch, prepared by Awasi’s excellent culinery team. When back at the hotel you can enjoy a spa treatment in your room or relax by the outdoor pool. In the evening, enjoy a pisco sour and take in the beautiful night skies on one of Awasi’s stargazing excursions, before a delicious dinner.
Stay: Four nights at Awasi Atacama – including all meals, drinks and private activities and transfers.
SANTIAGO
From the Atacama, you will fly back to Santiago, spending the afternoon and evening in the Chilean capital.
Santiago is the country’s capital and its bustling heart. Flanked by the Andes, there are a number of excellent museums and galleries to explore. Spend the day wandering the streets of the capital and enjoy local delicacies like Pastel de Choclo.
Your hotel is in the vibrant neighbourhood of Providencia and is one of the most luxurious places to stay in the city.
Stay: One night at Le Reve – a bed & breakfast
TORRES DEL PAINE
Board an early morning flight from Santiago to Puerto Natales, where once again you will be met by representatives from Awasi Patagonia.
After a 2-hour journey, you will arrive at Awasi Patagonia. A series of standalone cabins are dotted across the hillside and face the mountains of the Torres del Paine National Park. Although outside the park boundaries, the views from the hotel are some of the most impressive of any hotel in Patagonia. Guests can enjoy wonderful views directly from their own private hot tub or from their beautifully appointed cabin. There is a 5* restaurant in the main lodge, preparing delicious and locally sourced Patagonian cuisine, accompanied by some of South America’s best wines.
TORRES DEL PAINE CONTINUED
Over the next three days, you will explore the park and its surroundings with your private Awasi guide, who will discuss the activity options with you, including hiking, riding and boating trips as well as photo safaris. You can hike the famous routes through the French Valley or to the Base of the Towers or see quieter parts of the park.
Stay: Four nights at Awasi Patagonia – including all meals, drinks and privately guided activities and transfers.
SANTIAGO
From the wild weather and scenery of Patagonia, you will fly north back to Santiago for a final night in Chile before crossing the Andes into Argentina.
Stay: One night at Le Reve – a bed & breakfast
BUENOS AIRES
From Santiago you will take a direct flight across the Andes to arguably South America’s most cosmopolitan city, Buenos Aires. You will have two full days to explore the vibrant city, which is home of the tango, Eva Peron and some of South America’s best restaurants and bars.
You will be staying at a stylish boutique hotel in the charming neighbourhood of Palermo with some excellent shops and restaurants. It’s the perfect base to explore the Argentine capital and its eclectic suburbs of La Boca, San Telmo and Recoleta.
Stay: Two nights at Legado Mitico – a bed & breakfast
IGUASSU FALLS
Your luxury holiday through South America ends at one of its most spectacular attractions: the jaw-dropping waterfalls of Iguassu. After a short two-hour flight from Buenos Aires, you will arrive into the hot and humid jungle of Iguassu.
On the border between Argentina and Brazil, the Iguassu Falls are one of South America’s star attractions. With your private Awasi guide you’ll have chance to visit both the Argentine and Brazilian side of the Falls, as well as some lesser known areas in the surrounding jungle. Awasi Iguassu is built in the rainforest on the Argentine side of the Falls. Similar in style to Awasi Patagonia, your accommodation is a standalone bungalow, surrounded by nature and with its own private terrace and private plunge pool.
IGUASSU FALLS CONTINUED
The Argentine side is famous for its walkways and dramatic views from the Devil’s Throat, as well as close-up views of the Falls by boat. The Brazilian side offers tremendous panoramic views, which highlight the sheer number of waterfalls that make up Iguassu Falls. Inside the national park, you will see all kinds of wildlife from toucans and macaws to coatis and black Capuchin monkeys. Away from the national parks, guests of Awasi Iguassu can enjoy some quieter and lesser explored parts of the jungle with their expert guide. Travel through the jungle by 4×4 and spend the afternoon kayaking on one of the many tributaries leading to the Falls with a break for a BBQ on the riverbank. For those interested in wildlife, early morning bird watching activities are available, but for those wanting to relax at the hotel, the afternoon can be spent with a wine tasting led by Awasi’s award-winning sommeliers or relaxing in your villa’s private pool.
Stay: Four nights at Awasi Iguazu – including all meals, drinks and privately guided activities and transfers.
