FAMILY ARGENTINA

From the mountains and glaciers in the south, to the jungle and tropical wildlife of the north, Argentina is a spectacular family destination.
ARGENTINA, SOUTH AMERICA

ABOUT THE ITINERARY

Our family Argentina itinerary has been created to suit families of all ages and interests and has been put together to showcase some of the highlights of Argentina, as well as the lesser known areas too.

At just over two weeks it can be shortened or lengthened, but has been designed to make the most of your time away and utilising as many direct flights as possible (as we know how boring airports can be!)

Argentina is famous for it’s gaucho (cowboy) history and whilst away you will stay in authentic estancias as well as some first class hotels, ideal for families looking to explore the surrounding area.

Los Glaciares National Park | Ultimate Travel Company

With our English speaking local guides you will explore the jungle and waterfalls of the mighty Iguassu Falls, on the border with Brazil and even experience a wet and wild boat-trip into the falls. You will also discover the cosmopolitan city of Buenos Aires, famous for football, tango and it’s excellent restaurants.

From Buenos Aires you will head south, into the spectacular snow-capped mountains of the Argentine Lake District, where you will have chance to ride, hike, kayak and explore the beautiful forests and lakes of the Nahuel Huapi National Park. Then continue south to the serenity of Patagonia, where you will mini-trek across the mighty Perito Moreno Glacier.

Your penultimate stop is one of South America’s wildlife hotspots, a remote farm on the Atlantic coast, famous for its marine life and wild and untamed scenery. With some luck you will see Southern Right Whales, Elephant Seals and possibly evening Orcas.

Your time in Argentina comes to an end at a relaxing estancia in the fertile planes of the Pampas, just outside Buenos Aires. A chance to relax and enjoy the warm hospitality before flying home.

Iguassu Falls | Ultimate Travel Company
Day 1-2

IGUASSU FALLS

Arrive into Iguassu airport, where you will be met and driven into the Iguassu National Park on the Brazilian side of the Falls. With your guide you will explore the trails and experience some wonderful panoramic views of the 250+ waterfalls.

Afterwards you will driven across the border into Argentina and to your hotel, which is surrounded by jungle and has a beautiful collection of outdoor swimming pools.

On your second day you will witness the falls from the Argentine National Park. Your guide will take you on a full day tour which includes exploring the upper and lower circuit of the falls and also to the hugely impressive ‘Devil’s Throat’. It’s here you get the most impressive close-up views of the waterfalls crashing over the surrounding cliffs.

You will also get to see the falls from a different perspective, as a speed boat takes you up the river to see the falls from below. This a great way to escape the humidity of Iguassu!

Day 3-4

BUENOS AIRES

After breakfast on day 3 you will be driven to Iguassu airport on the Argentine side of the Falls and take a direct flight to the Argentine capital.

On arrival you will be met and driven to your hotel in the beautiful neighbourhood of Recoleta, known for its impressive architecture, parks and restaurants.

It is here that Eva ‘Evita’ Perón is buried, and with your guide you will have the opportunity to visit and also see some of the other attractions of the city, including the colourful neighbourhood of La Boca, where tango originated and the home of Boca Juniors football club.

The following day you will be taken on a bike tour through the picturesque parks of Palermo and to the newly designed port area of the city, Puerto Madero. You will also visit the Costanera Sur Ecological Reserve – a wetland between the Rio de la Plata, the world’s widest river, and Puerto Madero – it’s known for being the only place in the city inhabited by wild, native plants and animals.

During your visit to Perito Moreno Glacier, you will have the opportunity to go mini-trekking on the glacier (minimum age of 10 and maximum age of 65) – a unique experience as you feel the glacier moving beneath your feet.
