ULTIMATE NAMIBIA

Raw, wild and prehistoric, there is nowhere on the African continent that quite compares with the rugged grandeur of Namibia – and this itinerary is the ultimate introduction.
NAMIBIA, AFRICA

ABOUT THE ITINERARY

You’ll visit untamed Kaokoland where you’ll be able to watch desert-adapted lions, giraffes and elephants roaming freely across a vast and undisturbed landscape. You’ll also spend time in the private NamibRand Nature Reserve, quad biking and hot air ballooning across 200,000 hectares of rolling desert plains and blazing red dunes.

And no Ultimate Namibia holiday would be complete without a trip to the wild and hauntingly beautiful Skeleton Coast. Here you’ll be staying in a striking, solar-powered chalet designed after the region’s dramatically strewn shipwrecks.

NAMIBRAND NATURE RESERVE

Today you’ll journey south for some sensational wildlife and landscape viewing in the NamibRand Nature Reserve. Sharing a border with the Namib-Naukluft National Park, the reserve boasts one of the country’s most striking landscapes – think sweeping desert and savannah, faraway mountain ranges, isolated inselbergs, elusive fairy circles and iconic red dunes.

Set in the northern part of the reserve and surrounded by panoramic desert vistas, Kwessi Dunes provides the ultimate base. When not admiring the views, you can choose from an exciting menu of scenic drives, nature walks, quad biking, hot air ballooning and helicopter flights. You can even traverse the landscape on horseback and take day trips out to the soaring dunes of Sossusvlei. A designated International Dark Sky Reserve, the stargazing opportunities are unrivalled.

You’ll fill your days with guided game drives and walks along ancient, dry riverbeds in search of lion, giraffe, elephant, springbok, oryx and the endangered black rhino. Bird watchers should also keep an eye out for Monterio’s hornbills and Verreaux’s eagle.
