Kitich Camp, Mathews Range, Kenya

Tucked away deep in the Mathews Range (or Lenkiyio Hills), Kitich Camp overlooks the Ngeng River and is surrounded by densely forested hillsides – it’s an island of luxuriant vegetation on a sea of arid wilderness.

There are no roads and very few visitors. The region is off the beaten track for tourists, and therein lies its appeal. The wildlife remains wild, wary of man and as nature intended. It is also abundant – the richness of the area attracting game from far and wide. So you can track them on foot, using the knowledge and traditional hunting skills of your guides – usually Samburu warriors - to experience encounter after encounter with genuinely wild animals.
